I SHOULD have sent it to JetHot. Emma has a ummm, I don't know, silvery greay one. I don't like it the same color as the engine. What do you think? Guess I should grab my Clausager's and see.

I'll bet.... Originally it was engine color! But then mine is black and I like alloy ones - what's another $200?

If you are going for originality, yes it should be engine color RED.
 
Bespoke!

Valve cover was the same colour as the engine. I've decided to "wrinkle paint" one black for this car. Just fer fun.
 
Here's a question for the combined group...I usually "dress" the engine compartment before I install the engine itself (i.e., wiring, plumbing, etc.)...Janel's installing her engine first...how do you guys do it?
 
For the B and the TR3, I did all the wiring and plumbing first. Will probably do the same on the TR8 (actually, I left some of it in place when I took it to the body shop). Much easier to maneuver around when there's no engine in place.

The valve cover looks fine to me and you can always change it.

Tony, I usually do the opposite (dress first), but don't see where it would matter.
 
Wireing and lines first. But then Janel can do those at home and engine takes a lift and some strong arms, the more the better for a smooth job. Expect in Janels situation I would do the same and get the car home.
 
Engine and transmission went in to check 'fit.' Since Chuck's putting a 4 sync transmission in, some modifications have to be made. And he mentioned having to do something (???) because the engine didn't quite want to go in. I imagine he'll pull the engine before we do the other stuff.

I want to start it and get it home! I may try to get over there this afternoon or tomorrow.

Yep, I was wondering about that transmission - &, Janel, you know all that pretty paint? Well, its about to get beat up - at least on the transmission tunnel! BFH is how he's gonna fit that transmission...I would've thought that was test fitted & modifications made before paint went on...
