Engine oot!

I cleaned up the garage enough to make room for the hoist.
The motor and tranny are coming out to be replaced with a 5-speed.

While I'm in there......

What else should / could I be doing?
The motor is in fine shape, so I don't need to worry about that lump, I was figuring replacing the motor mounts, but can't believe I'm coming out of this too easily, there must be something else?
TIA!

Should do everything while it's out, LOL.

Hoses, manifold gasket,...

plans for a remote bleeder? ...

Clean and adjust the steering rack.

Install a TDC pointer on top.

these are all just suggestions BTW

Does your bonnet release cable need service?

Well.....

I'll be more than happy to fill that beautiful engine bay up Tony; as long as I can keep it..... :jester:
Wait'll you see it with red paint!

But, it answers the basic question.

Jim, I have them for the 1275, and the A-series IF it has the big balancer rather than just a pulley. The set is $20 including a pointer that's zinc plated rather than black as shown, a timing tape, an alcohol swab, and complete instructions. Here's a pic:

I need to install one of these on my 1098. Will work as well if Damper /Balancer Pulley is on there. One the Bugeye Forward Tilting Bonnent is on there. No way to get to look underneath engine to set timing with bonnet opened up. $20 a deal in saving frustration.
