I am having my engine re-built over the winter and have taken the opportunity to do some tidying in the engine bay. I decided to replace the old engine mounts while I had the block out. It was easy to remove the old ones and I did note the orientation of the one on the passenger side where the bolt coming through the rubber was in the lower end of the block like the picture below. I did not make a mental note of the other mount positioning when I removed it thinking it would be the same. I have received the new engine mounts and installed them a few days ago. However, I could see the outline of the original mounts and the shims in the paint on the face of the flange where the mounts attach. By examoing the marks on the flange on the drivers side, it appears that the mount was positioned reversed to the mount on the passenger side with the bolt in the upper position. Does this make sense? Thanks for any advice on what is a simple issue. Frank D............ TS42756LO
