I've used several sets of those lifters, they are good stuff. Just curious, how much are titanium pushrods, you can get custom length chrome moly pushrods made pretty darn cheap.

Check out this place....https://www.paeco.com/productList.php

$35.00 per pushrod & any length you want.
Titanium is 1/2 the weight and twice as strong.
(I don't have to tell you that, I know)

Update....

Going to Waverly Va. next weekend to drop off a bunch of stuff.

Gonna have Steve Ellis build it.

You are deep in it man! You must not be married to put that kind of thing in the kitchen! LOL /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shocked.gif

IMHO, I wouldn't let those guys clean the oil in my driveway. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif

The VP-7 is a nice cam and should suit your purpose very well. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Yep....Paeco is a place to be avoided.
But they don't make the lift rods....Smith Bros does and you can get them at Paeco cheaper.

Anyway....Dropped off the blocks, cranks & head at Steve Ellis' place...

8 hrs down & 8 hrs back....What a PITA!

He said (jokingly) "just send me $500.00 a month until I tell you to stop".
Then come down for the dyno run & pick it up.

Paeco has earned their reputation... mehheh.

"cheezy" would be the adjective of choice fer me.

I used to keep a four speed MGB gearbox to the right side of the couch inna hovel... practice shifts. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Paeco probably doesn't make Paeco exhausts either but, a lot of people use em & you can get them from Peaco cheaper.

I just wouldn't have them perform any machine work for me.

I think Moss wants something like $1200.00 for Titan roller rockers where if you order them direct they are $725.00.
(Same sort of thing w/ Fidanza flywheels)

It just helps if you know where to get things.

So far as the cam goes.....

I've decided to go with the Basil Adams / Steve Ellis home brewed scatter cam.
(A bit hotter than the VP-12 profile)

Guaranteed to run 8,000 all day w/o ripping the oil pump drive gears off or having tappet issues.

A little more aggressive than I first wanted but, WTH....

Lets see what happens /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

hello all, reading your posts and had to put my 2 cents in on paeco. i had them build a head, had it shaved for higher compression. this cost around 1200.00 bucks, brought it home and had to wait awhile to get some other parts including a good parts g2 cam, before i could put everything together.after finally getting the car together,i drove it on backroads under 60 mph to break it in. after 300 miles it started to click,i shut it off and pulled to the side of the road, tried to restart it and it seemed the engine was locked-up, had it pulled back home. pulled the valve cover off and 2 valves had broken springs, one valve had fallen into the cylinder. i called carl at paeco and since it was past the 60 day warranty,he would not replace the head,he said he could fix the block for 2100.oo bucks and the head for 300.00 bucks. i declined his gracious offer. allen.

I've heard umteen similar stories about this place. But it sounds like you had valve spring bind causing this problem. With a G2 cam , the spring seats should have been fly-cut and larger heavier duty springs installed. The remaining followers and cam lobes would tell the story. For $1200.00 I would think this had been done. Just a guess.

Now I have the cash to finish off the engine and buy a race car trailer from Econotrailer in Pa.

Carrillos, Venolia, Moldex, Titan & the list goes on..... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/yesnod.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thirsty.gif

Does anyone make a titanium flywheel?.... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

Kent, Titan, Payen, Crane, Tilton, .............
The possibilities are endless. I don't know of anyone making a titanium flywheel, but if you buy the billet, I'm sure someone can whip one up for you! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

I have that problem too... oh wait, that's probably not what you meant. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Sound like you're going to be having some fun. Enjoy!

I made the decision last year to sell the DeLorean, but never got around to getting it ready.

A fellow from Baltimore asked me about it & wanted to fly up and take a look.
I spent all last week preparing it and he bought it with little hesitation.

Figured I'd be happy to see it go...
What a strange awkward car.

I was showing him the way back to the interstate and as I watched him turn onto the ramp...
I got kinda choked up.

Had to have a few /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thirsty.gif at the local.

Think I'll go wax the Elva. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

Isn't that counterproductive? How are you going to go back in time to buy vintage parts now?

Don't really need it anymore.
I've been collecting & hoarding...

You know...One of those people who sit on a whole pile of parts made outta unobtaineum.

And you're gonna have to pry my cold dead fingers off my extra 1622 head. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/nonono.gif

(I'm still vulching for a HRG-Derrington) /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

I almost snagged this but, it won't fit in the Elva.
