i bought my first healey in 1964..a 1960 british racing green over red interior four seatyer. i was thinking today about working and cleaning on the car....memory is quite dated...and it seems to me if i remember correctly7 that the engine compartment and chassis were painted in old english white???? would that have been possible

Usually, the engine compartment, chassis and main exterior color are all the same. For two-toned cars, the upper color is the main exterior color, and only the coves were painted a different color.

Some cars, early BN1s, IIRC, had black engine compartments, but I understand they are the exception.
