This is a question that probably ALL of you know the answer to but, I don't
Carla and I just bought this Miata and want to clean the engine so we can spot any leaks, etc. What's the best and easiest way to do this? Can we pressure wash it at the car wash? Thanks.
Simple and easy? Use foaming bubbles bath cleaner. Let sit, then wash off. Works great- and you can't beat the price. Depending on how thick the engine gunk is, you may have to scrape off some by hand first.

At the shop I help at, when any car comes in for engine work, we spray the engine down with a good degreaser then we fire up the steam genny to clean off all the oil and dirt. You should just avoid hitting anything electrical like fuse boxes etc.
