Engine castring date

I am trying to find out the casting date for my 74B. Does anyone know what B would stand for?

Reading from the lower left and clockwise it reads B 1 3 I am pretty sure the B is not an 8

Thanks

Can't help you on the date but had to read the post as the title implied you might have been starting an engine swap or removing a couple cylinders if you catch my drift.

Sounds like August 1, 1973 (if it's the little "clock" under the distributor).
