Engine Cart

Hello,

Anybody have pictures of the engine carts they made. I just pulled the motor out of my newly acquired BJ7, just a little bit heavier then my sprite motor. Tried to move it on the floor, does not slide on card board. I have a meg welder and have decided to build a rolling engine frame. Any pictures or drawings would be appreciated.

Just a thought Phil, are you going to rebuild the engine then place it on an engine stand and you will not need the cart--Fwiw--Keoke

Phil -

Harbor Freight $20.00 for a moving dolley. I've used it the past 4 times I've pulled my motor with no problem, just leveled it with a couple 2"x4" blocks.

The motor will get rebuilt late this year, so for now I would like it to roll it around safely, as it does take up allot of room

Dougie, what have you got where the oil pan should be, to support the block (painted engine green)?

Handmade but works. Will hold tran/OD and motor using the existing engine brackets.

It is my oil pan...... I use one of DMD's high volume, multi-baffle sumps on my race motor. https://www.dmdaustralia.com.au/

I made a simple rectangular frame and welded casters to each corner. I used the stock engine mounts, and made a bracket to bolt them to. Later, a friend helped me wire the motor, and I mounted the tach, water/oil gauge and ignition key in a simple "dash" so I can go out in the garage and start it up. I also got a two into one exhaust adapter from Magnaflow and used an old Honda muffler so I don't scare the neighbors too bad.
