engine bay color

Mike, one of the benefits of getting older is that I get to see new pictures every day. And a lot of them are my own car!!

You are correct. I remember discussing what I should do with mine way back when and your work helped push me in the right direction.

BTW, my car was painted with Dupont Centari Acrylic enamel. Way back in 1985, after the original paint had faded to a very dull yellow. No rust, just fade from being in the sun, because it never saw snow. Factory paint was never a strong point on these cars and eventually age took it's toll under the hood, which is why I wanted it to match the outside.

I agree. My first two Triumphs were painted within three years of being new and someone painted my TR6 with a very amateur job. Right over the bumps and dings even. So that will be a future project. At least there is very little rust.

It seems to me that the original paint is best removed before new paint is applied. No sense covering a problem.
