So. engine and trans in the car, but not yet on motor mounts. I'm using a new starter from Rivergate and seems to be hanging up on the rail.

Anyone have this problem when they installed their kit?

I found a new starter that didn't work and its adjustments didn't work either. The VB has the ability to be taken apart and turned til it fits.

I installed the same set up last winter and ran into the same situation. You need to re-orient the starter. It has an adjustable mounting plate. Just loosen the two allen head screws and rotate the entire starter assembly until everything clears the rails. I found it easier to install the engine and gearbox in the car, then install the starter. This way, you can more readily see which way the starter needs to be rotated.

Thanks for everyone's help. I'll let you know how it goes.
