If yours doesn't have the drain plug use the pump till it goes dry then drop the tank and empty the rest through the filler neck or fuel sender opening.
I use the blow & siphon method. Stick a siphon hose into the tank, seal off the neck of the tank around the hose with your hand, take a big lungful of air and blow into the hose for all you're worth. When you've blown all you can blow, quickly direct the hose into your catch can. The pressure you blew into the tank will force the fuel up the hose and start your siphon.

Other than using the fuel pump or the suck & siphon method, any qiuck tips to drain the gas tank?
I might have about 5 gallons in there that I need to get out.
Sending the tank over to Cap-A-Radiator to have boiled.

No other tips to get it empty, but might want to ask them to braze or weld a drain lug/plug into the bottom once they get it out of the hottank. Mine has a round pressing where one belongs.
Good shops will fill it with nitrogen or water to prevent it (and them) going boom; but if done after the acid bath, it should be fine empty.
I used a cheepie three dollar plastic pump I got from the local Canadian Tire. The tank was over half full and took half an hour or so.
It was after it was empty and I looked under and noticed there is a drain plug. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
vping - You could always try my method - back over a sissor jack lying behind the car. Flips the jack righ over and puts the jack screw through the bottom of the tank and drains it right now! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Cheers
How bout you disconnect the fuel line before the pump and pressurize the tank with an air hose? Doesn't need much pressure and the tank will be dry in no time. Get every drop this way.
I use a blow gun and a rag to seal the tank at the filler neck
Floor jack under tank supports it while loosening bolts...then, slowly lower to ground & slide out from under car...then tilt & drain - pretty high tech to me...hehehehehe
The hose I used to siphon it coiled up and there was still a few gallons in there. I did what tony sug'd and just dropped it out with a floor jack, tilt, empty - done.
I do think that blowing air in is a very clever way though.
