empty trailer Boston to Atlanta

I am traveling down to Atlanta to pick up a rust free TR7 shell(there aren't any more up here). I will have an empty trailer on the way down. Anybody need something moved? I plan on leaving in a week or two, and I will travel down interstate 81. If needed, my buddy in Atlanta could store a car until it could be picked up. Keep me in mind all of you VTR attendees. I am sure one of you Southernly Gents will need a tow home.

TR8 Todd... surely you are not going there to get a FHC? I have one here in PA I can not figure out what to do with. Only a few surface spots and I am thinking of trying to part it out before basically giving it to Team Triumph for basically a roll bar adn some parts.
I picked up a 7 DHC in Ohio rust free misus two surface spots and my brother just located a FHC with the canvas top sitting in a used car lot and he said it was pretty mint too. Would be willing to golook at it for you if you like (There is a Fiat X19 there sitting next too it too)

I am picking up a white 1980 convertible. My buddy has a highly modified TR8. It was gold, but he painted it white. He had the body redone about ten years ago. He is in the military. While he was down at Guantanamo Bay, his ex girl friend drove his car in the salt and didn't take care of it. The body is now beyond repair. It just makes sense to start with a clean shell. I would be interested in a clean coupe shell for myself. I have all of the parts in the basement for the two TR8 coupes I have wrecked on the race track, and would someday like to rebuild one. One was blue and one was orange from the factory. Problem is, I am currently working on four different cars now. Not to mention the wife isn't too happy that I bought another BMW parts car this week. What color is your coupe and when was it built?

Atta Boy!!!

my coupe FHC started life as a white car and then Pedro painted it (what else) Red to keep it interesting, I stripped it and had a copper coat thrown on it. I really like the color (Close to what all the major makers are using now. I will probably run the DHC (originally aqua blue I beleive but painted... you guessed it, red) this year with it's current paint and this fall look for a new and different color to put on it

Hi There Tr8Todd;

When exactly do you plan on heading South? Reason I ask is; If I should buy a car in CT (Off RT.84 - Bridgewater); Would you be able to pick it up for me & delv in PA? I`m a stones throw from Pocono Raceway if your familiar with that location?

Thanx & Regards, Russ /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif

If you had room for 2 I'd see if you wanted to pickup my GT6 in SC, the shipping company I hired seems "horrible" so far. They were supposed to pick it up wed-thursday, and didn't, with no call etc. Now they tell me, with attitude, it will be sometime next week...

The kicker is I heard about them because someone bought a car off me a week before and got a good price for shipping. Guess what, that car is still sitting in my driveway now almost a month after the guy bought it and scheduled for it to be shipped!!

Ok I'm done venting....

Hey Zackb911;

Who`s the Carrier? This way I`m certain not to use them ever, especially on the East Coast:

Whats the New Owner have to say relative to His/Her Car still sitting in Your Driveway? Man; I would be "[censored]"!

I would have gotten (Is that a word) another Carrier ASAP:

Just passing thoughts but I`m certain most of us would like to know; "Who Not to Call"!!!!!!!!!!

Thanx and Regards, Russ

PS: Dog Gone It; "CENSORED AGAIN"!!!!!!!

The Conn to Pa seems doable. I am originaly from Berwick Pa, so I know the area. Contact me at tkishbach at comcast dot net and we can set something up. I was going to leave Wednesday, but family has come to visit this week. Looks more like we will be leaving Tuesday July 24th or so. I would need more info on the Carolina car to know if I could be of any help.

That would be https://www.american-autotransport.com/

I just read their reviews on epinions.com they are HORRIBLE!! A total scam company!

I've shipped so many cars with DAS (all be it expensive) and sold cars to others who have used various shippers and never had such poor service!!

However they have my deposit money and the proverbial ball, so I'm hoping things shape up. They have a clause in their contract stating they have 15 days from the original scheduled date to pick it up, but this experience is just BS!

To top it off I got attitude from them when I expressed my concern politely...

I've cancelled the ship, called my Credit Card company and had them recind payment, now to find a real shipper...

I used a broker when I bought mine. 1st Call Auto Haul. Called them on Tuesday, it was picked up that Friday and it was in my driveway the following Tuesday. Five days from Illinois to New Hampshire. One week from the day I called them. Best of the best. Car never sat anywhere in between.

https://www.transportreviews.com also gives carrier ratings. That's how I found 1st Call. They had great reviews.
