emergency brake cable

My emergency brake cable has no more adjustment in it.Do I have to buy a new one or can something be done to make this one (which obvisouly been stretched to its max) work.

Glad you asked, hehe.

What you need is a washer kind of peice to go behind the welded on part at the back of the tranny tunnel to effectively move the cable sheath away from the adjusting nut.

How abut a 3/8 peice of pipe about a quater to a half inch long split with a hacksaw or something to fit over the cable. Tension bolt stays in the same place against the welded on part and the sheath is moved toward the engine.

Adjust the length of the spacer to your requirements.

Oh yea forgot, your old cable is much better quality than new ones.
 
What Jack said because the new cables are stretched to the max in about a year.
I grab the OEM cables off Ebay when they pop up.
Canton is good brand.
