TR2/3/3A Emergency Brake Adjustment

John,

I got the cable out of the two pinched areas. Now, I'm going to have to enlarge the hole where the cable goes through the frame, then I will have the entire assy out and will see if I can unlock the cable from the housing. I hope I can as it looks like it would be quite the project to replace the cable.

Thanks, Dick

I don't understand why you would have to enlarge the hole in the frame. The cable had to be installed somehow. The entire assembly is only $17.99 at Moss.

John,

I am going to send you a pic of what's attached to the ends of my cable as the Moss cable doesn't show these parts, that are attached.

Dick

John can you post the picture when you get it? I want to play too. I know how I struggle with the technology, and I think Dick has a couple years on me. What I found about pictures was my camera took too big a picture and I had to resize or the forum would reject it. Or Dick send me one too please my email should be on the forum, and if not it is teve53@gmail.com

I see it Dick; it looks like they lengthened the cable a couple of inches. I am not sure about a tr2 being different than a tr3 in hand brake cables or handles, or if yours was lengthened to have work on Girling axle with 10 inch brakes. I doubt if there is that much adjustment, maybe with a new cable end on the cable side and or maybe 2 new ends you might get some more gable and make it work because there are a lot of threads on the studs. Looks like you might have to fiddle with it some. Keep us posted

Steve I use InfanView to reduce my photos in size. It is a ferr program and simple to get it to do the reduction in size. A 2 or 3 step process.
