Hi there, I'm very embarrassed to be posting this, particularly with resources like ChatGPT and Google out there, but nonetheless I can't figure out how to pop my frickin' MG's hood! Here are two photos - first one is the driver-side cavity, second one is same but zoomed out to wonder about a weird knobby thing that doesn't seem to do anything.

Many thanks in advance!

The knob that you're pointing at in the second picture is for the fresh air vent just in front of the windshield.

The bonnet release is to the left. It's above the upper left corner of your first picture. Tee handle.

FYI, about that fresh air vent lever.....push if toward the front of the car to close the vent, pull toward the rear of the car to open the vent. It appears to be in the "open" position.
