email on topic up-dates?

Are you guys getting emails for posts on topics you're "watching"?

Since the BCF software upgrade, I haven't received a single "topic reply notice" email. I check, those topics are on my "watch list", there have been posts since the software upgrade, but I've received no emails. Only one "you have a private message" email.

I also asked this on the Software forum, but so far no replies posted.

Just wondered.

Hi Tom,
In your preferences, there is a check box marked "By default should anything added to your Watch Lists be emailed to you?" That is in addition to the email option in "watched topics"

Thanks gentlemen. My prefs have always had that marked Yes. However I don't see an "email option" in the Watch List under My Stuff. Greg - is that what you mean by "email option in 'watched topics'"?

Just a side note: even if someone has a topic marked at "watched", when you post to it you get a checkbox "Add this thread to my Watched Topics". If you accidently check that, thinking you maybe aren't "subscribed" to it, the system then *UN*-subscribes you to that topic.

Hi Tom,
In the "Watched Topics" screen you'll see "Edit Watched Topics" just under the "Watched User" tab. Click on that, on the right side is the "Email Notification" checkbox for each thread you're watching.

Thanks Greg. Just checked - those Email Notification boxes are all marked "immediately".

Would you please do me a favor? Would you post something to one of the topics I "long ago" added to my watch list? Just checked - the topic and the "watched" are still there.

That way I can see if the topics I was watching *before* the software upgrade are still mailing notifications.

Its not working for me either. I added THIS topic to my watched topics and I should have received a notification for the recent replies, but I did not. Developer will be notified ASAP.

Greg - I saw your post on that "old" thread of mine. Didn't get an email on that one either. Thanks for the help.

Basil, I *do* get email notices on threads I subscribed to *since* the software upgrade - this one, for example.

Well Tom,
You're a lucky son of a gun. I'm not getting emails. I just re-entered my emails in my profile to see if that changes anything. I've got two different ones, I wonder if that makes any difference?

OK, I just got an email notification. I turned on "The Pub" for emails under watched forums. I just turned it back off to see if I get this post emailed. Also changed my email in preferences so they are all the same.

But the question is, are you now going to get email notifications for any post in any thread in the Pub, or just for this thread (or threads you subscribe to?)
