Elva front brake shoes and cylinder kits

Broken nekkid cranks at that... and bent h-rods too... make it go away /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Yes please?!? My nightmares are bad enuff as it is... I don't wanna try sleeping with that image floating thru me brane tonight. I plan to crank up th' 18GB tomorrow.

Yeah, sometimes we see real ugly things at the track.
A few years ago, a friend was racing his VW Rabbit when all the spinning bits inside the engine decided to escape. One of the rods punched the distributor clean out of the block....it was hanging by the wires. The opposite side of the block was mostly missing.

I was flagging at Pocono when I found this rod (below) on the ground. It was ejected from a Toyota that still made about another half lap! The rod was too hot to pick up for about 5 minutes.
It was fun to return it to the owner ("Here. You dropped this.") /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Glad to see you made it back without any more surprises.

We ran a double regional last weekend.

My friend, Cpt. Sparkles, and fellow Pinto champion, took out 3rd gear on turn 12 at Nelson Ledges Saturday.....

Then he was trying to winch the car back on the trailer...Slipped....& the handle spun around and broke his foot.

I guess 1&2 July Mid-Ohio is out now........Dang!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cryin.gif

Attached see image of the parts of the Elva block that I FOUND in the engine bay--others are scattered on the course at Sebring.

Best--Michael Oritt

At least you didn't have to get flagged in for peeing on the track.

I was going to paint the Pinto black with orange rondelles #86 & call it the "FLYING MEATBALL"
