Drove my BE to the vintage races this last week. What a trip. Pulled a small Harbor Freight trailer I bought just for this purpose, or one like it. All the time and effort spent on making the BE a strong performer and somewhat reliable was really nice. No problems going or coming. A friend races and had a pit and vehicle pass, so it was nice. GT 40s were the featured car. and you couldn't guess the number of real or kit cars. Asked how many and one responce was, how many people are here, they're as common as belly buttons. I wouldn't be suprised if there weren't more than a 100. Ford had a display insured at 75 million of 17 production milestones and race winners. Drove the track on FRiday, they really let you go, of course the modern cars got me on the straights, but often I had to wait on them in the corners. 6 laps. If you ever get the chance, this is a race to go to.

Every September there is a lower profile event, the Elkhart Lake Vintage Fall Festival, sponsored by the VSCDA (vscda.org) A great group of guys with lots of Spridget racing represented. This year it's Sept. 11-13. Greta fun, great venue, terrific brats and beer.

And, this is where the Midget 50th will be held in 2011!

Probably need to plan for that. Many racers of all types started with a spridget of some type and many took an interest in the BE. Most noticed your adjustable shocks. What a place for an event, and the brats were really good too.

Made several june sprints and other Can Am events in the 60's and 70's. At that time it was for the racing, brats, beer, and sweet corn. The girls were friendly, too! Wanted to make the vintage Can Am races they had a while back but could'nt. I'll definetly be at Midget 50 though!!
