Elena's Motorbike Tour-Chernobyl Trip.

This has been online for a while.
OK; Not technically "British Bike"....but it's the sort of trip all motorcycles are *made* for.

Worth reading. Somewhat haunting.

Some of her other writings (such as The Serpent's Wall) are good reading too.

There's a lot of talk arount that says she's a fake. Which is a shame, it'd be a great story. https://www.uer.ca/forum_showthread.asp?fid=1&threadid=8951&currpage=1

Yes...that's true. The "hoax" accusations have been around for quite a while.
What I have noticed is that Elena does not seem to be attempting to cash-in on any of the stuff on the site. And I have noticed that some of the accusers cannot verify their point-of-view any better than she does.

In the end, who knows?

Anyway, here (below) is a note from the site admin for her webpages (he claims to be donating the bandwidth/space)

"After "Elena" brought this story to light, everyone that claims to be an expert has come forward identifying it as a hoax or a fraud.

How ironic that although they would label her a hoax and a fraud, she was able to achieve what they could not even dream of achieving. Bringing this issue the world wide attention it deserves.
As the only email contact, I have seen each of the moving emails that were directed to "Elena."
Her words have definitely made the world think about this piece of forgotten history. I have seen every request from news agencies from around the world, each of the big names, begging for interviews.
"Elena" wanted nothing to do with these interviews.
I offered to setup a paypal donate account to create a fund for the project and local charities.
"Elena" Wanted nothing to do with it.
Did she do it for fame or notoriety or even money?
Or did she do it in order to bring attention to a forgotten region.
Read her words and decide for yourself."

I used to belong to a sport-touring motorcycle forum and the hoax claim was proven to some great degree.

While the board is still extremely active, it has gone through several software and server upgrades. Thus, I can provide no links to that thread. The thread was about 20+ pages, IIRC but this was back about 6 years ago.
