Electronic rust preventer

No..... and NO!

Zinc Oxide primers, or just some preventative maintenance will keep the rust at bay.

My 2¢ worth.

We had the rust evader on our van. Ive heard theories debating both ways. Some say it works, some say no. I for one say that It seemed to help, but I can't prove it. I dident have any rust on the van till a while after I took it off, but that may just have been timing.
I woulden't pay much for one. Your money, like Kenny said, is better spent on proper preperation during a restore. But if you're not doing a full paint or body job, then the electronic gizmo is an option.
It definatly won't hurt anything to put it on there.
Give me some time and I can probably come up with a used unit for you, for the cost of shipping.

IMHO just more snake oil. Just like the gadgets they claim will increase your gas mileage. Popular Mechnics did an article and the bottom line was SAVE you money.

Gonna ask more on tomshobby Q!, given i have a healey with ali/steel contact points, would i be better off re electrolysis reduction with a pos or a neg earth?
Live in an area with a lot of ali boats and i think they are all neg earth for the reason of not having the ali hull as a sacrificial anode
Any expert advisors out there?

Zblu, probably the most significant point in having a negative ground in the Ali Boats is to accommodate modern electronic accessories. I access the Healey car problem from this same point of view. Positive Grounds were just the custom at that time and were not predicated upon corrosion reduction between dissimilar metals.--Fwiw--Keoke
