I'm not going to lie, my B desperately needs a front half re-wire but until i can afford to have it off the road for a while ... thats not going to happen.

Basically, i will be driving along and my speedo will work, but if i use my demisters or my indicators it will go dead, drop straight to 0rpm. (with my indicators on, it drops from its current RPM, to 0 RPM, in beat with the indicator)

Would this be a shifty earth under the dash somewhere u recon?
I am absolutely stumped. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Cheers guys

I had a problem with the tach, fuel, temp, and taillights going out after going over a bump. Ended up being a bad connection at the fuse block on the green wires. I replaced my fuse block and cleaned the bullet connecters and found some of the female connecters were split and not making contact sometimes.

You could have a dirty connection in the wiring bundle in the engine compartment. I've had the tach problem in the past, and recently a problem with a couple of guages (including the tach), blower motor, and OD drop out all at once. The problem turned out to be a bad connection or two in the harness. You can pull the connectors apart one by one (check to see they're ok), clean them up or replace them, and also use dialectric grease when you put them together.

Generally, circuits that are affected by more power intensive devices are screaming that there is a BAD GROUND. Try grounding the Tachometer directly to the chassis, and then chase down the culprit after you identify.

Second thing to look at is the power source for the affected items.. do they share a fuse? Are they all Keyed off the ignition switch? you could have a bad connection in one of those areas, but my bet is on the ground.

Good Luck
