Electrical problem: car wont start

check the plastic connector to the ignition switch. mine came apart and cost me a tow. now it has a wire tie around it.
 
Success! I cleaned the connector block just next to the fuse box, and the connectors attached to it. Then, everything worked.

I confess I don't understand how a bad connection there could explain the symptoms, although those wires are part of the starter circuits.
 
FWIW, the fusebox itself can be disassembled and cleaned up pretty effectively. I got most of my lights back doing just that....
