Almost none of the lights, fan, radio, hazzards, wipers, flashers, console, guages worked on my new B. I only have a few issues.

1 rear side marker not working but I know the bulb is good so a little more diagnosis is needed.

Reverse lights on all the time. I suspect something is stuck somewhere.

Trunk light does not work. Wiring diagnosis needed.

Brake test light does not come on.

Other than that I'm real happy to have worked this out.

Ahhh, Progress.

I actually got my courtesy lights to work too.

I have found that all my dash lights that didn't work were merely loose bulbs or the bulb holders had pulled away from the connection points, but I don't have any trace of a trunk light. I'll have to look again.

I'm working on the license plate lights right now. I think in this case it's a blown bulb.

Not until '68 did MGB's have lights in the trunk and interior (other than the pull-switch on the passenger side of the dash).

Once again Doc keeps me our from under the hood. I'll send along a pic of the car as she looks now, we do body work this winter. Got the new wheels from Tony and they are beeeyoutiful. Thanks, Doc.

Be careful you don't fix everything - leave 1 thing broken or you'll suffer a far greater fate - I know!

heeheee... Lucas' Revenge!!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

Lucas revenge. Whattya mean if it all works I'll be cursed sometime down the road?

Well I almost cooked the dash harness. All I was doing was moving some wires around and where the terminal goes into the harness happened to, by the oddest of chances, hooked on the bracket for the heater control. I heard "that sound" that kind sounds like bacon frying and as luck would have it, I let some smoke outta da harness. Now I gotta break out my recharge kit and fill it back up again. What a hassle!

JUST Friday (odd name fer a day considerin' the thread subject) I stopped at a pal's shop: Had an MGB (RB) on the lift which the owner had decided to anchor a radio in. The guy swears he just TOUCHED the radio from the back and the thing absolutely fried the under-dash harness. It had a distinctly UN-new car smell. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

I pulled the radio out and most of the problems went away. There are 4 wire's under the console which have no homes and the seat belt warning light does not come on. Not sure of how this one works.

Leave the seat belt light broken...only you & the car will know it but you'll be better off that way.

Doc, lemme know if you need a '77 underdash harness....

They went ahead and patched it up with the existing harness. Apparently the owner didn't want to go the cost of a replacement.

After dealing with pulling the dash outta da junker and removing the harness, I'd patch it up too.
