Electrical fire

I found the source of the short. The resistor tab was touching the heater box when I reinstalled the fan and top cover. After a month of driving the tab rubbed thru the powdercoat and shorted. Brosky, you might want the check your resistor has ample clearance when you re assemble everything.
Also puzzling me, the green power wire was spliced onto the white/red wire going from the ignition switch to the starter solenoid (hence not fused). I would have thought this wire was only carrying current when cranking the motor?
When I had the heater box out I noticed that this wire had also burnt from the starter switch back for about 6 inches. Also puzzling me is I cannot locate the original green wire for the heater box.....
Regards
Craig
