TR4/4A Electric Overdrive Lever Switch

That lever is just horribly in the way. How many times have I slammed the planet gears at 20 MPH when all I wanted to do is hit the turn signal lever?

I'm inclined to cut it off with a Dremmel and leave a little fancy one-inch rod that looks more like what is should be.

Anyone else have issues with that design?
 
I hit it with my 4A all the time, for some reason I don't do it as much on my TR250, but I agree, very easy to hit at the wrong time, suppose you could hang a simple toggle switch under the dash.
 
I had the same "problem". It drove me nuts. So I was able to wiggle the plastic end piece off the OD switch shaft and cut the shaft off so once I put the plastic end piece back on, with glue, it was about 2 inches shorter than the turn signal stalk. It is great that way and I think it should have been designed that way by Triumph. Since I was able to put the plastic end piece back on it looks stock.
