I have toyed with the idea of thinking about the possibilty of maybe getting one of these or something very similar. Considering gas is about twice what it is in the US but on the other hand I don't drive very far at all on an average working day, one of these electric cars might be useful albeit rather slow.

Anyone have any experience with small electric cars?
 
I have been looking myself a bit lately. I personally think that the thing on the horizon is the Wave Crest technology.

They already have a bicycle on the market which I am considering. So if you are looking at new, you might give them a look see.
 
Both are interesting ideas. Wonder how much that Crest car is.

Are the Smart cars available in the US?
