It's the latest scam on eBay. It's in an obscure section of eBay to keep a low profile, only pre-approved bidders, state to state transaction, low feedback and all are old transactions, etc. These guys used to use brand new accounts but people caught on so now they buy a few things and store the account away for a year or so, then use it for the big scam.
The last Vette had a buy it now price of $9500 and the bidding was already at $10,500. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif
It isn't that they mind being caught. The one sale out of a hundred that makes it through is enough to keep them going for a month or two. People who are naive enough to believe anything they see written are the true victims here. They don't understand that the internet is primarily a huge conglomerate of opinion and outright untruth. Sure there is a great deal of fact to be had from it as well but it is difficult to sift through the BS to find it.

Naiviety is one thing, but some of these "deals" are so unbelievable I suspect that more than a few victims are greedy types out to get something for next to nothing, and end up burned.
The same sort that fall prey to the Nigerian scams that offer people tens of millions for some never-before heard of zillionaire relative that's died with an estate about to be pillaged by the corrupt local klepto-bureacrats.
If someone gets hoodwinked in a too-good-to-be-true deal I have a lot less sympathy than if appearances are more credible.
