EDIS and Smith's RVC Tach

Woohoo! I now have a working tach.

Rather than revive my old topic on this, I am starting a new to make it more "searchable."

Here's how I solved the problem:

1) Using circuit diagrams I found here: https://josepino.com/circuits/tachometer-circuit] https://josepino.com/circuits/tachometer-circuit[/url] I replaced all the caps in my tach.

2) I connected the tach to the PIP signal (pin 1) from the EDIS unit. I was trying to avoid this because I feared noise from the tach might interfere with the signal. The PIP siganl (the signal that tells the Megasquirt/Megajolt where the engine is in it's cycle), but so far, that does not seem to be a problem.

Step 2 most likely eliminated the need for step 1. But when I removed the caps, the insulators crumbled to dust in my hand, so I am certain it was for the best.

That "Josepino" homepage (linked at the bottom of the tach page) is pretty neat! Thanks.

It's not just you. I think they are having server issues.
