Yesterday I saw a super clean Econoline pickup -
Medium Blue, with White around the back of the cab,on
chrome 5 spoke Crager wheels.

Almost never see those -- always thought they were pretty cool looking.

There's a couple of them running around our area,
but this one was in exceptional condition.
I've also seen a couple of nice '68-1/2+ vans running
around - used as daily drivers.

Years ago a buddy of mine bought one with the idea of putting another cab at the back end so as to look like a telephone handset. He owned a telephone sales and repair shop. Alas, with the advent of cell phones the bottom dropped out of his business and the project was scrapped. It would have been cool though. I'm thinking someone must have pictures of such a conversion?

Pacific Bell used to have them in an (almost)Olive Drab color,
back in the '60's.

Had One! Well, My Dad and I had 3 and a '67 Van. I used to work out of the van and used the pickup to run around in for parts and stuff. It was an Air Force vehicle. They had cut along the seams in the bed and had fitted Stahl tool boxes into both sides, welded in, with the drop down door. It was great to work out of and a real attention getter.
Dad had the 5 window version. I think he had an 8 cylinder Crown Vic engine and matching auto in it. Painted it red. It had two speeds: stop and go like H E double toothpicks! He did that little project while in his mid 70's.
Saw a nice one in Rochester, Mich on Rochester Road in front of an auto parts store, near downtown this spring. Super sweet. There are still 3 in our county here in Haywood County, NC. One is my old truck.
Lot's of fun...
