Ebay Strikes again, me this time

[ QUOTE ]
ok I did it also. I purchased another tr7 off ebay from a guy in Missouri. Fly out next weekend to drive home. Another cross country trip in a tr7. I figured out how to arrange the pillows and cooler to sleep (relatively) comfortably in the car.I'll probably only carry my towing card and ham radio. this time i bought a '76 fhc to accompany my '81 dhc.

Congratulations on your TR7 purchase. It is nice to see that there is still a market for people who appreciate the look of the FHC. Hopefully I can find a buyer for my rare (1200 or so made) '78 TR7, that I unfortunatly have to part with if I want to put money into my other project. (actually, my wife's idea) Truthfully though, I had great fun and learning experiences with that car, but I only have room, and insurance money, for one.
Enjoy your '76.
It would be nice to know the ratio of happy Ebay LBC buyers to unhappy LBC ebay buyers. Hows about somone doing a pole? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/canpatriot.GIF

Wow, cool little Spit! I remember when I was in highschool almost buying one of those, but ended up with a $600 Pontiac Catellina instead.

Well this makes me feel better about buying a car off ebay, since several of you seem to have made the plunge also. Jim, congratulations on the 3 and philman congratulations on the new wedge.

well, the tr7 fhc is my second car off ebay. i also purchased my rangie off ebay. the rangie seller accurately described the problems with the rangie and had set his price accordingly. i'll let you know about the tr7 next week, but i don't expect any surprises.

Hey nice '3... hope you get much joy from it. Got my TR4 from eBay and couldn't have been more pleased. There bad deals out there too but it can work well for some.

BTW Jim -- You might have a look at this thread from Basil:

as your avatar seems to be large... took awhile to load on my pitifully slow dial-up. 'Properties' says it is 144K though that hardly seems possible on an 80x80 pic.

Hey great looking shell you got. Good luck on the project.

You know, if you buy a car off eBay, if the car is even slightly different than the discription you are no longer legally tied to buying it. I also think you could win a court case if they misled you into buying a junker when they said it was good.
