Spitfire eBay Spitfire - good deal?

Sold is Sold.Lets look at this way its another Spitfire going to another enthusiast :winner1:.We can talk about this subject all day,And in the end this buyer had the money & now has the car.Theirs one thing SURE if ya gotta a good one its a good investment for another potiential buyer.I also have a good one appraised at Hagerty for face value $8000.00 value voluntarily offered by Hagerty after they saw the history & photos.
Congratulations to that new owner who is gonna be happy.

"Price" is determined by the market. This is simply a result of supply & demand. (Just think about today's housing market -vs- the housing market of a few years ago...)

If someone is willing to pay a certain price for an item, then that is what THAT ITEM is worth (at least to THAT buyer & THAT seller). Now I DO REALIZE that this may not be what everyone else thinks it is worth, but THAT BUYER & SELLER did, & in the short term that is all that matters.

Now if we are to talk LONG TERM, market price is determined by averaging out the occasional over-priced and the occasional under-priced items to find a happy medium.

YES, with an auction you do occasionally find bargains & you do occasionally find items that seem to be overpriced. But for an item's price to run up in a "real" auction there needs to be at least 2 bidders who think it it worth buying!

It IS all relative. I'm sure that the seller of this particular car is happy w the price, & I hope that the buyer is happy also. IF NOT, we might see the car up on the auction block again in the near future....

"Cheers!"

True;In the end scheme, the car is truly being recycled,to a NEW owner.,And this is what we want...Good Spitfires are a rare entity.Their are more good big TR's than good Spits so thats what going to drive up the value of a GOOD Spit.In my history of past LBC's the one car i should never have parted with was my Sunbeam Tiger i special ordered it new for $3700.00 now its worth $35,000 for a rare good one.
And for all the BLUSTER in whatever car magazine you read, theirs never a mention of the Spitfire...Its day will come.Wherever i take my Spit they ALL ask what is that?i'd love to own that.
