Ebay sale payments change?

I wondered what you guys think about this:

If sellers are paid directly to their bank account (via Ebay access), can buyers still use PayPal to pay? Or do they have to link their bank accounts too?

Don't like it and I let them know... as if that will do any good.

I guard my bank info and try to have it in as few places as possible to avoid someone hacking and stealing it, that's why I've avoided online baking or it the "convenience" of storing my information on sites I deal with. Too easy despite most sites best intentions to lose your information. We all see stories of customers data lost all the time. With a credit card at least they're not directly in your assets, but a checking or savings account, even if used only for that, too bad so sad if they get in.

Exactly, Pay Pal has been trying to get me to link my bank account to them for years. Though I haven't heard of a data breach from them yet.

Is eBay offering a choice between linking to your bank or the funds going to PayPal.?
Like others, I have not (nor will I) give eBay my bank info.

Ebay no longer owns Paypal and is trying to establish a new pay system.

OK - I can see they want to set up a new pay system, forcing sellers to use their own system, not PayPal.

But how does the buyer pay the seller, if the seller can't get paid using PayPal? Does the buyer have to use the new ebay payment system too?

Last time I sold something, probably a month ago, I received the payment though PayPal. Last time I bought something, last night, I paid through PayPal. I think Ebay is just offering this new system as an alternative to PayPal. I bet they are missing those transaction fees.

I keep hearing this too, but I have done about three transactions in the last two weeks, all through paypal. No notification it will soon be going away or requests to link my bank account.

You can still buy with PayPal, but for sellers it is no longer an option to have your payments sent to Paypal. I've sold a few things with the new system and it hasn't been an issue so far.

Thanks Drew. If sellers no longer have the option for payments sent to Paypal, then how do sellers get paid if the buyer pays with Paypal?

I'm still a bit confoozled.

Guess I won't do ebay, I don't give anybody bank info, too many scammers for ebay and paypal.
