Yesterday I saw an interesting car on ebay. Put it in my watch list, and used ebay to ask the seller some questions:

I used to have one of these, back when it was new. Great car. I have a few questions before bidding.

How long have you owned and driven this car?

Do you have clear title and registration?

Is there rust or corrosion beneath the floor mats?

What compression readings do you get on each cylinder?

Do you have documentation for work done on the car?

Thanks.

This morning I got his reply. Here's his answer to my questions:

Wow all I can say is that you were very fortunate. This is a beautiful car no doubt, have a good day.

That says it all... "that's all I can say." The next reply might be "what's a compression and is it something I need?"

WAIT, here's a thought. Get a number of us to bombard him with the same questions. "I'd LOVE to buy it and I will aggressively bid IF you give me the compression numbers." :yesnod:

Common, give us the ebay link!

We won't hurt the guy to bad,

just make his brain go on overload.

If you post the compression, I can easily see this bidding over $100K!

 Oh yes... and the higher the compression, the higher the bid. If those cylinders have a, say, 400psi compression, the car might fetch $200K.
