Ebay BE

One of the reasons I don't restore cars for customers or for resale is that, when I figure my hourly rate, I would lose money!

I have a restoration for sale spent 2,000 hours and will be making -$1 per hour. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif

was a keeper, but lost storage, got some space? hehehe

I'll have to send you a pm regarding your previous post.

When tallying my expenses, how do I record blood spilt?

In Texas, it is illegal to pay someone to give blood, so I don't have a good reference for market rate. I hear plasma goes for about $50 a pint. If I were to assume raw blood has a similar value, I expect that is going to significantly raise my reciept total.

What! You can't sell your blood? Then how are you supposed to get extra beer money for college?

haha...ive only got about $1000 in mine so far, and it almost runs! almost.....i should be under $2500 when im done hopefully...ill b happy with that!

Tallying up the "hard" money has some merit, as does the accounting for hours... it gives perspective to the somewhat silly fascination these things hold over us. Otherwise it's an exercise in futility: Who in their right mind would PAY to WORK this hard? Ultimately it comes down to reward therapy. Why else tilt at windmills as determinedly as we do?

...that was SERIOUSLY off topic. <shrug>

Hey Doc,

They might be giants.

Besides, the world needs quixotic people.

Andrew (and others) did you notice that in the close up picture of the speedo that the ignition light lens/bulb is missing.

Seems that we're not the only ones with this problem!

I did catch that--looked specifically to see what they might look like. I guess this wasn't the best design. Wonder how many years they lasted for in the first place.

9K for paint. Gesh, half a dozen rattle cans is going to have to do it then. No way. Wonder if the base has a paint booth, hehe.

My folks here charge 35$ an hour and the work quality is normal US new car quality which seems fine for a fun driver on nice days. Certinaly not concourse but goana look good for sure. Specially with my big grin.
