eBay adaptor for 5-speed

Contact this guy: Paul Asgeirsson <PAsgeirsson@att.net>.
He is the expert on this subject and does have these adapters and all the information you will ever need to know on this subject.
Also, he is a great guy.

Haven't talked to Paul A. yet (he's Morris Service, correct?) but he's my choice for a conversion. I've got the transmission already, just looking at my options for adaptors.

I've got a few questions in to the seller right now. Thanks, Hap, for the info. Nice to know this is legitimate.

I wonder what else is needed to make this work. Clutch, slave, etc...

Call Paul A. at Morriservice. He can answer all your questions and even give you answers to questions you didn't know you had, like how to make your speedo read correctly after the swap.

Gentlemen, I have one of these that I bought for $200 about 5 years ago. I ended up making a different plate when I ended up making everything for the conversion myself. I will sell it for what I paid for it. Its a rivergate just like the one listed there.

I'm peaking in from the dark side, but does anybody know if the person who made is this adapter can do one to fit a Ford Type 9 trans to a 1500 Spitfire? It doesn't take the same setup, it uses a plate between the bellhousing and trans. Hap?

BTW Hap, I've been meaning to stop by your shop for years, just couldn't find it the day I looked.

There are mail-order shops on the internet who will make you anything you like out of metal, using CAD software, all you need to send is the plan. I have a buddy at work who knows about that, he had a bunch of stuff made up to build an old-fashioned valve amplifier from scratch, and they made the chassis (steel in this case) for him. I'll check and get back to you.

Kim, before you sell it, make an _exact_ drawing of it... with measurements accurate to 1/32 of an inch or better.

Looking on the Rivergate site, the standard kit apparently is the adapter with the rear main seal, the throwout bearing, the yoke, and the clutch.

Just curious - the Datsun trans would use the stock Datsun or Spridget yoke, right? Any modification needed there? Also, which clutch is used, stock spridget?

I was all about ordering the rivergate kit, but if it's cost effective and within my means to handle it myself, I just may be willing to do that. If I got an "ebay" adapting plate, what additional parts would I need to do the swap?

No lathe access...

Bill, just curious..why the need for a new starter, datsun ring gear, and slave cylinder? Doesn't the Rivergate kit reuse these (or offer the slave cylinder as an optional upgrade)?
