Scotty,
Don't let people attack your car. Those who don't appreciate the wedge TVRs are very often those who have not expe)rienced them. (I just b ought a second wedge.
As for the race car on eBay, this is, I believe, the third time it has been advertised.
It is the Costin that has been maligned. Some people have no taste (or tact). It's OK, I can take it. Every time I take her on a winding road I am reminded of her true inner beauty (getting pretty deep here).
Another wedgie? Way to go. What is it this time?
Hey - good news regarding my '86 and V8 transplant thoughts. I hear that the '86 and forward had the Euro frame, widened and waiting for a Rover transplant. Still pondering the 289/302 and possibly that 2L turbo Cosworth sitting in the corner... Hmmmmm.
Scotty,
My latest acquisition is a 1984 Tasmin/280i that was stored in a barn for the last five years and just needs some TLC, mechanical maintenance, and new interior. The frame is good and solid and it's the same color scheme as my 87 except with a black top instead of tan top so I'll basically have a matched set.
I'll be chronicling its refurbishment on my website in the near future.
Scotty,
Wedges are a hard sell in this country. You'll see similar comments on the TR7 and TR8. Personally I prefer the M body style. Some people swear by Saabs, Merkurs, even Yugos. When you take a shine to something that's a little wierd you have to expect comments.
Love the wedge! I think that I collect unliked wedge shaped British cars. TR7 V6, TVR 280I, and I was looking at a eclat a couple of weeks ago.
Scotty,
If you are looking for a Rover V8 there is a 4.2 here in Knoxville that needs rebuilt $150. The junk yard said it was in unknown condition. I would rebuild it either way. You might even get it for $100 cash?
It's the Costin that is deemed ugly sticked - not the wedgie. No one thinks a wedge is ugly - do they? Never mind, I don't care to know. I don't think I can bear goin on knowing I have TWO ugly cars... All I can say is the wedge looks very comfortable sitting next to the TR8 - twin brothers of different mothers.
Thanks tr7/tvr for the heads up on the 4.2. I already have 4 of these in varying capacities hanging around waiting for homes...
Hey - here's a great idea for a coffee table that someone sent me. Anyone familiar with the Buick/Olds/Rover block can ID it in a nano second. Sorry for the poor colors, but I'm sure you get the idea. PS, those are wine bottles in the center bores.
