Early XK colors...

Greetings from a TR forum member...

I have an early TR2 that I would like to repaint sometime in the future. The original color the car was painted is not to my liking (ice blue)..and it's been repainted three times in non-original colors so I guess the PO's didn't like it, either!

I have seen several 120's and 140's in some nice, original colors and I was wondering if anyone has a source for paint codes or pictures of some 120/140's in original colors...or even non-originals that are in the spirir of the original's.

As a sidenote. my brother is finishing up a restortaion of a '36 SS...I'll post some pictures as soon as I get a few.

Thanks.

Rick

Rick -

My '57 was beige with stone interior (bleah!). Picked factory Pearl White with red interior and top. Attached is a poor quality pic, but you get the idea. Pearl White is a VERY pale yellow - more like a cream color. The red really set it off well.

Mickey,

That would be one choice...I really don't want to paint the TR white because my last one was white...but this is not a true white.

I really like many of the early Jaguar colors...that's why I'm over here trying to tap the Jaguar "brain trust"...

My brother does Jag restorations exclusively but I think he'd charge me to find the right info...
