TR4/4A Early TR4 Rear Suspension

Ian-

I've been running with the Moss springs now for over 3 years and I think they are fine - in my case I changed out the old ones because the price was reasonable and the car had a slight drivers side sag. As a late TR4 I have the high arch springs, you may have the lower arch TR3 version - hopefully still good quality though.

Does anyone have first-hand experience with installation of the Ultra-High Molecular Weight (UHMW) low friction tape on leaf springs? Am considering this improvement for my 59 TR3 but would like some feedback as to whether it is worth the hassle and expense versus just disassembly, cleaning, and oiling.

Thanks

Pat

So I have spent some time this weekend grinding and cleaning up one of the leaf packs. I am still thinking about UHMW tape or teflon buttons.

I would think that any paint will wear off very quickly, so is it worth priming them?
