Does anyone know of a source for these on their own? I see that Moss sells them, but only as part of a complete panel kit; which I don't need.

Have you looked at TRF? If you exhaust your resources, pm me. The man that did side curtains etc. for years for TRF could custom make one for you. His quality is superb. He is very busy, so lead time could be months.

I think TRF would be a good choice, also Victoria British lists them separately.

I didn't realize that Moss would split a kit. Also, I have now found them on the TRF site. I had looked, but obviously not properly.

I wish that TRF and VB would hire someone who knows how to build a user friendly AND customer friendly website.

Anyone bought these from them and if so what is the quality like?

So the ones that are on sale at TRF don't actually exist yet. I was told very huffily by them that it will take at least 6 weeks to get them from the UK. The same thing happened (3 week wait) when I ordered my carpet set that was on sale recently.

VB says that they have them in stock and they are cheaper. While saving $$ is good, there's no point if they are not a good quality product. The VB phone person knew nothing about them other than what the computer said ("Computer says no"). I will try and talk to someone who might know something tomorrow.

On a related note, how does the bottom of the center cover get attached to the "rear seat" area? The seat area has 4 pairs of 2 small holes that were used to mount some sort of attachment/snap that lines up with the 4 eyelet holes in my existing cover. Unfortunately, whatever was there is long gone. Does anyone have any pictures of the early TR4 setup in this area; assuming that I have made myself clear?

Thanks

Ian-

Don't have my camera handy, but those holes held lift the dot studs very like what you have for your tonneau/hood. Didn't measure them, but pretty sure they are the same as the longer studs on the back that also hold the webbing.

So the 4 female parts of the stud assembly that I received with the carpet should be attached to the carpet then; I wondered what they were for. Presumably the holes in the center cover go over the male part of the stud and then the female parts in the carpet snap onto the male part.

So the TRF person (who shall remain nameless) had also huffily told me that they don't provide the front carpet rear snaps that attach the carpet just in front of the seats. He explained that this was because people might want to re-use their old ones and they don't want to force parts onto people!!! ... but they did provide the rear female snaps for the cover - aaaaaaargh. It's the small stuff that is always annoying, especially when buying the bigger ticket items.

As with everything, some people have the talent for customer service and others were trained at the Basil Fawlty school of charm.

So I fitted the VB hood stick covers and it really makes a difference in how it looks. I still have the question as to exactly how the center piece is attached at the 4 lower points. The new carpet has a vinyl piece about 1 1/2 inches deep across the width of the rear edge on the hidden side. Is that what you attache the female part of the fastener to? Any pictures would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Ian-

Not sure if this is what you need, here is a snapshot on my TR4. I have one of those occasional rear seats, but I don't think it matters. Carpet uses lift the dot fasteners, attaches to the main studs on the body, then the hood stick cover. I suppose the order could be reversed, but with the rear seat it doesn't make much sense.

Thanks Randy, I don't have the occasional rear seat to hide the fasteners.
