TR2/3/3A Early TR3A Overdrive relay location

Can anyone advise me where the overdrive relay is mounted on an early 3a?

I inherited my car with a box of parts so I am flying blind on some of these things. Without the luxury of having taken the car apart myself I can only go by pictures I've seen - I do have one showing it mounted to the battery box, but its a 66000 car - not sure if it's correct for an early 31000 car - mine doesn't seem to have a screw hole here.

Photo appreciated. Thanks in advance,

On early cars that came without the OD, you have to add the holes. Here's a shot from the workshop manual, showing where to locate the holes. The illegible text says the LH hole is 2-3/8" from the LH edge, both holes are 1/2" above the bottom, and the holes are spaced 2-3/4" apart (center to center).

Thanks Randall. Picture is a bit fuzzy - those dimensions are on the battery box, so my picture is pretty close if not exact, correct?

Yes, dimensions are on the back of the battery box. Sorry for the poor quality, that's the best I could do from the original I have.

No problem at all! That's awesome - exactly what I needed. I now know what I'm doing tomorrow ;-)

Luke-

The holes are I believe countersunk too so the screw head does not portrude in the battery box.
