TR2/3/3A ?????Early TR3 door fitting problem ?????

I'm with Tex as I just measured what I have - same thing, basically 4-1/8" to the cut out.
 
I figured out an easy solution to the problem, sell the car. If someone can get $2300.00 bucks for a used grill, $230000.00 for this car would be a steal. I can fix the problem by raising the striker plate on the b post 3/16" and lowering the latch on the door 1/8". I think this can be done by elongating the holes in the correct direction. I may need to find a special Dremil bit to do the cutting. It won't be that easy because the nut plate is just behind were the holes are. I may have to drill one spot weld on both brakets that hold the nut plate in place so I have room for grinding. After that reweld the bottom of the holes on the b post so you can't see the elongated holes, and replace the spot welds, problem solved. 5 hours labor I'm glad I don't have to pay someone to do all this stuff.

They look the same to me, except the left slot is longer. If you opened up the bottom of the right slot to the same size as the left would that fix the 3/8" difference? Or is it just the angle of the photo?
