Spitfire Early Spitfire Value

Hi, I am mainly a MG and Spridget guy but here goes. I have no interest in really aquiring this car but rather would like to find it a good home for the owner. It looks like it is a pretty early Spitfire. I got the following numbers off of the data plate.

FO42809 L

Paint-26
Trim-16

41252 FC

I have no idea what they mean. The car looks to be very complete. It is currently white. The bonnet looks to be good. The sills, a corner of a trunk lid, and overall most of the lower part of the body is very rusty. I don't really know about the frame or whether the engine is stuck. What would be an appropriate value for it? It is an iffy restoration project and would be a good parts car. It has been stored in barn for the last 8-10 years at least. Thanks for the help in advance, James

It's a late '64, MkI, originally Wedgewood, (medium blue), black interior, left hand drive, from the numbers. (The first number should be FC, not FO)
I would think $250 to $500 would be about right for the car.

Okay, now the big question. Does anyone want it? It is in North Carolina. It is currently stored in a barn and needs to taken away on a trailor. Thanks, James

I'm in Charlotte, just a couple of hours up I-85. Contact me direct for more info. James
