MGB Early MGB door locks

Does anyone know if the key number is stamped on the lock for early (flat style) MGB door locks? I want to have a key made and would like to know before I tear apart the door/ panel to find the number. Thank you

I have the same problem and would like to get keys made for the door locks. Do you know if the door lock is different than the ignition key. My ignition key is smaller than the other keys and is totally flat(no ridges) on one side.

AFAIR, early cars (pre-'68) had one key for all. If the door locks are different than the iggy, something has been changer over the years. For consistency, having the locks "keyed" to the ignition would be my personal preference. We've gone so far as to make all the locks/iggy work with one key on all three LBC's here.

I don't recall, don't think they were. I'll check today, have spares ~someplace~ around here..

No numbers on tumblers. :frown:

Early cars like my '64 has two keys. One fits the glove box and trunk. The other fits the doors and ignition. There is a number on the face of the ignition that is easy to see. The one on the trunk/glove box is harder to see. Details here:
