Early BN1's

Ok - You got my attention - # 160. So where are the photos and the story of tracking down this early example?

Well I was visiting the body shop that did my ali work a couple of days ago, and the guy pointed the healey and said it was no 160 and the guy had the BMH cert for it, its in poor shape, panel shop said they would pass my number on to the owner, its an early one, 2 piece dash

About 6 years ago before I bought BN2 #14099 I looked at bn1 #43 here in Cleveland. Car was in need of a total resto but was very complete and had lots of spares. Problem was that the owner had quite a sentimental attachment to it as it was her deceased husbands car and she wanted WAY too much for it. If I remember it was about $25,000. As far as I know it is still there.

I will be taking the cam next time, its a long drive to perth from where i am, saw the front splash guards were like mine, seam join, had the pressed tinware 100 welded in in from kilmartins, altho this had been fitted as repairs, what I saw that interested me was the pedal openings in the firewall, seemed to be pressed proud inwards, rather than from my memory mine being just holes cut, if any have any specific areas of interest I'll take pix for chronological purposes!, saw body #45 pix on larry varley site

Talked to the guy tonite, its purportedly number 183 not 160, ex calif import, sounds like lots of changes have been made, no ali cockpit surrounds, not orig motor, identified build number by ali tag?!(explained you have a number stamped on it, subtract 24 and thats your body number?) on bulkhead adjacent to volt regulator?, not orig g/box, yet has cert!
suggested he look for number stamped on trunk lid bracket
just looked at my cert, had 5.50x16 tyres fitted, a typo?
