Early Alzheimers, anyone here with any experience ?

There is a possibility that someone we know might have early alzheimers. I'd like to hear from anyone who may have first hand any information they'd like to share. Thanks.

Funny you would ask that. At first I included (Kelly and I) but took it out. I was afraid it may be misunderstood that both of us being suspected instead of someone we both know.
 
As I've noticed a decline in my memory over the last couple of years, I've often wondered. Still, no meaningful confusion yet. :eagerness:
 
I have had some experience with dementia, my aunt suffered from alzheimers for the last year of her life, and my father suffered from some dementia as a complication of Multiple Sclerosis. What sort of things are you witnessing?
 
My dad died from it! The person who has it, in most cases, doesn't suffer. The loved ones around the patient suffers immensely. My suggestion is, if you have the facilities to handle and care for the Alzheimer patient, keep them at home in familiar surroundings. It's a lot of work and very depressing to see their mind slowly fade away. My dad passed calmly in his sleep 3 years ago. I miss him a lot and think of him all the time. PJ
 
I should have clarified that better, what I'm asking about is no the early stages, rather early onset; under 65. Kelly's aunt had it so we're familiar with it in older folks. What I'm looking for is if there is anyone here who has any experience in it with folks under 65.
 
I've sort of experienced it... though not in the immediate family. Early onset is much more "genetic" and tends to progress a bit more aggressively (as I recall).
