Anyone in the Lotus forum familiar with the ins and outs of the 60s Elites? Need some tech info and some parts supplier leads.

Thanks

Hey Marv. I'm asking for a friend of mine that has several Elites that need restoring. Right now he's in the middle of a 64 I believe and he's not been able to find a reasonably priced source for the channel that goes around the side window glass. If he can't find the channel pre-made then he was thinking of having it fabricated, but he hasn't found a source for fabricating them either. Do you have any sources?

Also, he needs some front disc calipers and discs. Any ideas? Is there a crossover from some other Brit car that would work?

Thanks Marv. If you send my your email and wouldn't mind me passing it along to my friend so that he could be in touch with you directly.

By the way, he won his class at Pebble Beach way back in the mid 60s with his Elite. He's big time in to any classic car, but the Elite and his Farrari Dino are his first loves.

Thanks again Marv.

Several Elites! I am suddenly, insanely, jealous.
An expert Elite person is Mike Ostrov. He posts from time to time on the Elan forum, worth a try I'd think.

Another resource is Bill Hutton, in Clarksville, Tenn. - Hutton Monument Co. Semi-retired, but has been very involved in modifying/restoring Elites, especially for racing, for years. Also Cosworth Vegas. Very nice guy as well.

I second Mike Ostrov - very nice, approachable guy.
He's an expert on these.
I think his number is in the phone book.
