Early 1967 AH Sprite - installing steering column and new directional switch?

I am a new 1967 AH Healey III/IV owner and while trying to fix a non functional horn issue I am looking for advice on how to orient the little knob on the steering column that turns off the directional indicator as the wheel returns to center. I can't seem to find this information anywhere.
As far as I can discern the turn signal switch mounts on the outside tube housing of the steering column which should be adjusted forward and back in order for the little knob (technical term?) to make contact with the directional switch as the wheel is brought back to center. If so, when the wheels are pointing straight what is the orientation, relative to a clock face, for this knob on the steering column?
Note: The good news is the horn works when I ground the spring connector on the directional switch, so I got that going for me...
