E Type Exhaust systems

I have a series 2 roadster and it's time for exhaust. I was thinking about just using the resonators by themselves to give the car a better sound. My question is, will I hurt the engine as the back pressure will be reduced by having less restriction through the exhaust?

I did the same to my Series One E-Type many years ago. I would not worry about back pressure as the front mufflers are very low restriction. But the exhaust note was hideous. Think donkey passing gas in a tin stable. I couldn't get the mufflers back on quick enough. (and I was only 19 at the time)

I replaced my Series two system 5 years ago with a stainless unit from WELSH jaguar..it fit perfectly and the sound is excellent!!
