E-Type 2+2 rear seat won't fold

The Series III handbook specifically says the rear seatback folds to extend the luggage compartment, but I was working on my inlaw's '73 today (nice son-in-law that I am, fixing seatbelts adjusting this and that) ...

...I couldn't for the life of me figure out a way to make the rear seatback fold flat! I couldn't find a release switch, and the thing is held tight like it's latched.

Any ideas?
 
Hi,

I know the series 1 & 2 rear seats fold, but i'm sure the series 3 does not move.

(The ser1 & 2 seat back actually lifts up and back about a foot or 2.)
