E-brake set-up

Hi all,

I am restoring a 60A and am having trouble figuring out the set-up for the e-brake where it divides out to the rear brakes. Does anyone have picture of this?

Thanks

Is it an emergency brake, or a parking brake?

Welcome to the forum, where in Pa are you?

Maybe this picture will help. Both wheels are connected, but not the cable to the handle.

I can send some photos this evening if you don't get response before then. Am just finishing my parking brake setup now.

Here's the set-up from the parts book...it might help...

Edit: I should have rotated the pic 90 deg. :hammer:

Thanks all for your response, I see one item I need to correct already. I have the lever location wrong, I need to advance the wheel so they are in approximately a horizontal plane to the frame.

I am in DuBois, which is in north central PA just north of I-80, about 100 miles east of the Ohio border.

Thanks again.

Here is mine when I did my restoration from 1987 to 1990.

Make sure you install the new brake lines as they were originally so you don't abrade, squash, pinch or cut them if they get wedged by the axle and frame movement.

By the way, the workshop manual has specific lengths for each brake cable such that the lever is positioned correctly.
